A Sparkling Touch for New Year’s Celebrations: Cocktail Recipes

As we say goodbye to the old year and welcome in the new, it’s only fitting to celebrate with a special cocktail in hand.

Whether you’re ringing in the new year with a small group of friends or hosting a large party, these tasty recipes are sure to be a hit. From classic Champagne cocktails to creative twists on traditional favourites, we’ve got a little something for everyone. So grab your shaker, and let’s get mixing! Cheers to a happy and healthy new year!  

Cranberry Mimosa

The classic combination of 4 parts Champagne and 1 part fresh orange juice definitely has a unique flavor all its own! For an added festive touch, try mixing in some cranberry juice with this fantastic recipe. It’s sure to add a fun holiday twist to your celebration.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle champagne
  • 12 fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 lime, halved

To garnish

  • Sugar
  • Fresh rosemary

Instruction

Line champagne flutes with lime and dip in sugar. Pour 1/4 cup cranberry juice into each glass and top with champagne.

Use a toothpick to poke a hole through cranberries. Thread rosemary skewer through cranberries and garnish mimosas.

Chai White Russian

For those who want to greet the New Year with sweet cocktails, try the classic White Russian recipe with a gourmet and aromatic flavor, mixed with the beloved taste of chai for a winter twist. It’s a delicious way to kick off the new year!

Ingredients:

  • 20 cl vodka
  • 4 chai tea bags
  • 10 cl coffee liqueur
  • 50 ml milk
  • 50 ml cream
  • Cinnamon
  • Ice

To garnish

  • Star anise
  • Cinnamon sticks

Instruction

Add the vodka and chai tea bags to a large pitcher and let it steep for at least 2 hours. After removing the tea bags, add the coffee liqueur, cream, and milk. Mix well and then refrigerate until ready to serve. Add ice and a sprinkle of cinnamon powder before serving, and garnish with star anise and cinnamon sticks for a festive touch.

Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini

Create a timeless flavour by combining the classic cocktail martini with one of the most beloved tastes of cold weather, pumpkin. The combination of these two flavours will create a flavour that transcends the seasons.

Ingredients:

For each cocktail:

  • 6 cl vodka
  • 20 cl brewed espresso
  • 1.5 cl pumpkin liqueur (Kahlua Pumpkin Spice Liqueur)
  • A splash of caramel or chocolate syrup
  • Ice

To garnish

  • Winter Seasoning (a mixed blend of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger)
  • Optional: cinnamon stick or star anise

Instruction

Place ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Then, strain into martini glass. Garnish the top of one side of the martini glass with Winter Seasoning. Serve with a star anise in the center or a cinnamon stick on the rim.

Mulled Wine 

Bring together the traditional taste of mulled wine this New Year’s with some gourmet spices. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of dry red wine
  • 1 round sliced orange
  • 1 round sliced lemon
  • 8 whole kumquats, halved (optional)
  • 3 thin slices of fresh ginger
  • 1 orange (juice)
  • 8 cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 star anise
  • 100 ml brandy
  • 4 tablespoons honey

To garnish

  • Orange
  • cinnamon sticks

Instruction

In a large saucepan, combine the red wine, orange and lemon slices, kumquats, ginger, orange juice, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir in the brandy and honey, and continue simmering for an additional 5 minutes. Serve the hot wine in mugs, garnished with a slice of orange and a cinnamon stick if desired.
